FUN FACTS:
Despite having won at both the 2006 & 2007 Brit Awards (the biggest annual pop music awards in the United Kingdom), the Arctic Monkeys have never attended the ceremony. Instead, they’ve sent wacky taped acceptance speeches. In 2006, they recruited We Are Scientists frontman Keith Murray to accept the award for them - just to “confuse the audience”. In 2007, the band was dressed as characters from The Wizard of Oz and The Village People in their videoed acceptance speeches.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
At concerts, the band are better known for their sing-along nature and fan participation than for excessive lighting effects, pyrotechnics or other effects. Fans frequently join in, with the entire intro to “When the Sun Goes Down” typically sung by the crowd.
