On a grassy lawn in downtown Oklahoma City, a sea of 1600+ people sat on blankets, lawn chairs, or spent most of their time in line for the porta-pottys (unfortunately no Amy Winehouse ads) to watch the final film of the Dead Center Film Festival. The Flaming Lips U.F.O.s at the Zoo: The Legendary Concert in Oklahoma City was introduced by Wayne Coyne himself, along with fun blow-up friends, smoke machines, and confetti blasters!
During the showing Coyne walked through the crowd throwing streamers and getting the first reactions to the film. It was broken up between songs by back stage footage, fans tailgating, and the zoo’s permanent residents. I particularly enjoyed a montage showing just how much Coyne loves duct tape. It will be avalible from Warner Brothers on DVD July 10th.
