Check out this excerpt from A.J. Schnack’s Kurt Cobain documentary About a Son, narrated by Kurt himself using previously unheard audiotaped conversations recorded by authorized biographer Michael Azerrad.

Producer Nigel Godrich has mixed together edited-out bits of five tracks from Radiohead’s almost completed, unnamed 7th LP. Among the included tracks in the teaser are “Open Pick”, “Down Is the New Up”, “Bangers ‘n’ Mash”, “All I Need” and “Arpeggi.” The band has been working on the new album for two years and it’s expected to be released sometime during 2007. Here’s the video:

Before my computer choked last week, I planned on posting the first single from Interpol’s forthcoming Our Love to Admire - “The Heinrich Maneuver.” Luckily, my computer has been resuscitated and I can now share “Maneuver” with you. The song is a sharp and lively reminder of how much we’ve missed Interpol and raises our anticipation for the new album on July 10.

Yesterday, the Austin City Limits Music Festival schedule of performances was announced. The announcement always brings bittersweet excitement, because with so many great bands in the lineup there are also some very difficult decisions about which artists one should see. This year is certainly no exception (and luckily you still have our ongoing Better Know An ACL Artist series).
