Lee Alexander, the bassist in Norah Jones’ band, produced Amos Lee’s self-titled debut album and Barrie Maguire, the bassist in Natalie Merchant’s band, produced his second album.
WHAT TO EXPECT:
Having opened up for Bob Dylan and Merle Haggard, Amos still received kudos for a short set that was warm, tuneful, and quite captivating. Understated and businesslike, Lee may work through his setlist by rarely speaking between songs - which may be surprising to some accustomed to singer-songwriters prone to extended explanations about their songs.
