Free Download - Wes Anderson’s Hotel Chevalier

Hotel Chevalier, the thirteen-minute short film that acts as a prologue to Wes Anderson’s upcoming feature The Darjeeling Limited, is being offered as a free download from iTunes! This is great because Chevalier will tragically not, according to trade reports, be shown in theatres along with Darjeeling as it was originally intended. It’s strange to see modern technology like iPods and flatscreen TVs in Anderson’s normally timeless world, but the short is unmistakably his fine auteurist work - the yellow hotel room with a great view, a naked/bruised Natalie Portman, Peter Sarstedt’s “Where Do You Go To My Lovely?”, and dialogue that is deadpan and distinct (”Barbara in the lobby.”). The video download link is below along with a repost of Sarstedt’s song (which you’ll certainly want on your iPod after watching Chevalier).
