Could this be the effect of “Dick in a Box”’s Emmy win? Music has always been an important component of Saturday Night Live, but this week’s 33rd season premiere seemed extra heavy on incorporating music into the show’s sketches (particularly the funnier ones). The Digital Short “Iran So Far” was a highlight - featuring Andy Samberg and Maroon 5’s Adam Levine offering a serenade to Iranian leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (played by Fred Armisen). After a brief “High School Musical 3″skit, musical guest Kanye West hilariously parodied his reputation for award show tirades on the ep’s second(!) BET-set skit. The writers even drudged up some 80’s nostalgia by spoofing the old syndicated dance series Solid Gold. Check out the videos below and after the jump.
