English Rockers Regretably Wearing Shorts

In making an argument for the superiority of pants, a very wise man (actually Hypeful’s friend Seth at a local bar) once pointed out that “Mick Jagger would never wear shorts.” While Jagger’s inimitable style has had a few stumbles, NME offers further evidence that English rockers and shorts are a highly unstable combo. In their preparation for England to take on Croatia at Wembley, the mag has assembled some amusing photos of English rock stars (who aren’t Jagger) in shorts. I’ve posted three of my faves above (from left to right) - Jarvis Cocker, Damon Albarn, and Pete Doherty. Perhaps this is why soccer will never catch on in America…
