Top 27 Albums of 2007

Hypeful has dragged its feet long enough! Putting together a “best of” list is never an easy task and this year was filled with some tough, musical Sophie’s choices when it came to the best best albums. Finally, Hypeful has settled on a list of the 27 best albums from 2007. Faced with some ridiculously hard decisions, I’ll admit that there were plenty of albums not listed that I would’ve loved to include. However, after countless revisions and changes in my rankings, this is Hypeful’s list of the best 27 and I’m sticking to it…for now…

Check out the Top 27 Albums of 2007 complete with MP3s for your sampling pleasure. Please feel free to leave your own lists in the comments!

  1. That’s a fine looking list. I wish I would have started listening to Yeasayer a bit sooner. I’m not surprised to see the National at number one. It was tough for me to decided between them and Radiohead.

  2. @Jake: For reals. This list was nothin’ but close-calls and difficult decisions that will probably haunt me for weeks ahead…

  3. WHAT?!?! Putting Boxer at number one is the easiest decision of the year. I wish there was a bigger gap between 1 & 2. Great list though…

  4. wow. finally a list that actually mentions Bloc Party.

  9. Wow… looks like Getty Images ripped off your design: http://www.gettyimages.com/Home.aspx

    You should totally sue them!

  10. Actually, the author of this site removed a posting yesterday (shame, shame) which lead to a page detailing how hypeful stole the design from getty. A lawsuit might be appropriate though. Perhaps McFarlane is a McFakePost.
