After months of viral marketing and a record-setting weekend box office, Cloverfield audiences finally got to see what was capable of decapitating the Statue of Liberty and ruining a hipster loft party all in one evening. Although the camera footage retrieved from the area formerly known as “Central Park” may not have had a proper soundtrack (for obvious reasons), perhaps you caught the rapid-fire snippets of indie-tastic tunes playing in the background of Rob’s farewell party. In case you were too distracted by the scene’s gaggle of ridiculously good-looking hipsters/monster-snacks, Hypeful has assembled “Rob’s Party Mix” to help score your next loft party - just add models, a shaky camcorder, Slusho, and a good city evacuation plan!
(Also, did you happen to catch the remix of Rob’s audio at the end of Cloverfield’s credits?)
ROB’S PARTY MIX:
Coconut Records - “West Coast”
Kings of Leon - “Taper Jean Girl”
Sean Kingston - “Beautiful Girls”
The Blood Arm - “Do I Have Your Attention”
Scissors For Lefty - “Got Your Moments”
Parliament - “Give Up the Funk”
Gorillaz - “19-2000″
Spoon - “The Underdog”
Kings of Leon - “Pistol of Fire”
Architecture in Helsinki - “Do The Whirlwind”
The Black Keys - “Grown So Ugly”
Bright Eyes - “Four Winds”
Joan As Policewoman - “The Ride”
Ratatat - “Seventeen Years”
Of Montreal - “Wraith Pinned To The Mist and Other Games”
MUCC - “Fuzz (ファス)”

1Very cool! It’s nice to see a list of all the songs that were played. Hopefully they’ll release this as an actual CD at some point in the future.

2The link to ‘Kings of Leon - Pistol of Fire’ is broken. It downloads a file that is not recognized as an mp3 file, and is unplayable.

8[…] In completely un-related news, did y’all see Cloverfield? I’ve heard that I’d like it, but that since Blair Witch’s camera movement made me nauseous, I might not make it through a theater showing of this flick. If you did see it and you liked the music, you can grab Rob’s party mix from Cloverfield. […]

33Does Kings of Leon - “Taper Jean Girl” sound like a Clap Your Hands Say Yeah song, “By the skin of your very yellow teeth” ? Is it possible the file is the wrong one ? Every time I listen to this mix now it bugs me. Or can someone tell me those two artists have similar styles, but the kind of murmuring is pretty distinctive.

36Hey I’ve been looking for the complete track listing for Rob’s Party Mix for a long damn time, thanks very much for not only throwing together the list but having links to the songs! A+ for putting in the extra effort
Anyone have any idea where to get ahold of the song that played during the credits? Titled something along the lines of “Roar! Cloverfield Overture” Its about 9 minutes long and is done by a full symphony orchestra. Actually pretty badass for what it is.
