Trailer for Vampire Weekend (The Movie)
After months of relentless (and well-deserved) hype, Vampire Weekend finally dropped their debut album yesterday. With bets already being placed on when the inevitable buzz-band backlash will hit these young upstarts, now is a great time to check out the trailer for VW frontman Ezra Koenig’s amateur film that inspired the band’s moniker and started it all. The preview raises more questions than answers (werewolf masks, Rod Stewart’s “I Am Sailing,” and Ra Ra Riot’s Wesley Miles all make appearances), but Hypeful would still love to see a Grindhouse-style Vampire Weekend / Christmas On Mars double-feature someday.
