New Björk Video - “Wanderlust”

Björk Wanderlust Music Video Volta

Björk’s new video for “Wanderlust” premiered today and, once again, it has Hypeful searching for the Icelandic translation of “visual showstopper.” As if featuring Björk as a river sherpa battling her clay doppelgänger against a Himalayan landscape wasn’t enough of a guarantee for a visual feast, the 3D version will be available on a DVD (3-D glasses included!) accompanying the remix-laden “Wanderlust” single (April 14th). For now, you can enjoy the 2D version below!

Madonna & Mariah Tag-Team Elvis’ Records

Elvis Presley Madonna Mariah Carey Records

The digital releases of Mariah Carey’s “Touch My Body” and Madonna’s “4 Minutes” has meant that two records previously set by Elvis Presley are set to leave the proverbial building this coming week. Both songs received enough digital downloads to put Carey on track to collect her 18th No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 singles chart and score Madonna a comfortable position in the Top 10. That will push Carey to second place among artists with the most No. 1s in the rock era. (The record is held by the Beatles with 20; Carey is currently tied with Elvis Presley.) Madonna’s new track will be her 37th Top 10 hit (beating out Elvis’ previous set record of 36) and put her in the position as the artist with the most Top 10 hits in music history. Your move, Josh Groban.

Drunken Adam Green Does German Talk Show

Adam Green Drunk TV Total Stefan Raab German Talk Show Beer

Having apparently consumed an entire Oktoberfest, a very drunk Adam Green appeared on German talkshow TV total last week where he sat in the host’s lap, joked about serving in Iraq with Hanson, and performed his new single “Mornign After Midnight.” Too bad Adam didn’t take a page from the DeVito/Limoncello playbook when he was on The View back in January. American talkshows need more drunken interviews and Tracy Morgan, Quentin Tarantino, and Paula Abdul can’t do it all themselves!

Her Space Holiday Covers Wolf Parade’s “I’ll Believe In Anything”

Her Space Holiday Wolf Parade Black Cat I’ll Believe In Anything

Her Space Holiday has done an ace cover of Wolf Parade’s “I’ll Believe In Anything.” Remember Spencer Krug’s appeals for sunshine in the original version of Wolf Parade’s infectiously ragged anthem? Her Space Holiday has responded by parting the grey clouds and reworking the track into an upbeat singalong. It’s highly recommended for your listening pleasure, but be warned - it packs the earworm catchiness of the original and is just as likely to get stuck in your head on repeat!

New Phantom Planet - “Raise the Dead”

Phantom Planet Raise the Dead

Perhaps best known for their sunny ode to The Golden State that kicked off The O.C. each week, Phantom Planet’s upcoming release, Raise the Dead (April 15th), is a surprisingly darker affair - a concept album built around the themes of a cult and the occult. Sweet Zombie Marissa Cooper!!! The title track shows that the band’s new style has taken a sharp turn towards epic, Arcade Fire-style anthem building. Stream “Raise the Dead” below!
