Not only are the Old 97’s releasing their first studio album in four years this spring (Blame It On Gravity - May 13th), their bassist Murry Hammond is releasing his first solo album (I Don’t Know Where I’m Going But I’m On My Way - April 21st). Murry has been the roots element of the Old 97’s sound since that band’s inception in 1993, and that influence can be heard in its concentrated form throughout his 17 songs about God, death, loss, trains and hope. You can stream Hammond’s entire new album now on his last.fm site and check out a couple of the new tracks below.
MP3s:
Murry Hammond - “I Believe, I Believe”
Murry Hammond - “Lost At Sea”
