Vanity Fair Goes Inside Dylan’s Brain

Inside Bob Dylan’s Brain Head XM Radio Theme Time Radio Hour

For their May issue, Vanity Fair has attempted the formidable task of going inside Bob Dylan’s brain. Forgoing the Malkovich-ian route of getting into a celebrity mind, the revealing feature examines the enigmatic musician solely by what he says and plays on his XM satellite-radio program, Theme Time Radio Hour. The short answer for what’s inside Dylan’s skull? Apparently, lots of George Jones‘ music. Check out the full VF feature for all of the other minutiae that compose the recent Pulitzer Prize-winner’s psyche.

Music From The Office Dinner Party - “That One Night”

The Office Dinner Party The Hunted That One Night Song Hunter Nicholas D’Agosto Jan Levinson Melora Hardin

Can you believe it’s been almost five months since the last episode of The Office? Thankfully, the series returned last night with plenty of hilarity, brutally awkward moments, and - oh, yes! - a soundtrack of cringe-inducing coffee-shop tunes courtesy of Jan’s former assistant Hunter! Last night’s ep (”Dinner Party”) revealed that Hunter’s band (The Hunted) released a CD featuring a song (”That One Night”) that seems to imply cougar Jan took her assistant’s virginity. Another fun fact: the music for “That One Night” was written by Todd Fancy of The New Pornographers!

If you’re interested in winning an exclusive copy of “The Hunted” CD (that you could share with Hypeful, of course!), Dunder Mifflin Infinity has released a forty-five second clip of the song and are asking fans to create a music video! If you want Jan’s Serenity Candles, however, you’re going to have to pay to smell Merlot Morning

Colin Meloy’s excellent new album, appropriately titled Colin Meloy Sings Live!, dropped on Tuesday - the same day Hypeful was lucky enough to see the hyper-literate Decemberists frontman live! Needless to say that between the live act and the new disc, Meloy’s tunes have been in Hypeful’s head all week and we think his songs should be permanantly lodged in your noggin, too.
