Neat list. I'm gonna track those down.

"Captain America" by Jimmy Buffett is much better. His old folk songs are pretty interesting and well worth tracking down.

Cap's also the subject of The Kinks' "Catch Me Now I'm Falling."
The first part of the line is
"I'm calling all people all over the world
This is Captain America calling..."

Weird Al has a Spiderman song. The American Pie parody.

Nice to see Firewater get a nod.

No love for Metal music here, huh? Anthrax's "I am the Law" is all about Judge Dredd, G/Z//R's "Dectective 27" is obviously about Batman, heck even PM5K's "Even Superman Shot Himself" is a better pick than Vanilla Ice, & Sabbath's Iron Man has nothing to do with comic's, it's about being an akward teenager. Heck you guys didn't even include "Cartoon Capers" by Dan the Automator

Wow! Lots of buried treasure in this list. I would have to say the #1 should be shared by the Lips "Waitin' for a Superman" and the Dummies "Superman's Song". They both examine some of the more fragile and human aspects of the Man of Steel: the fact that he can't be everywhere to protect everyone at all times ("Waitin'"), and the moral struggle of using one's skills to serve others rather than for your own gain ("Superman's Song"). The songwriters really understand the character of Superman and make him humanly relatable, which is more than I can say of most people who have actually written the Superman comic.

Thank you for forgetting all about the Spin Doctors "Pocket Full of Kryponite", even if it is better than that Nu-metal 3 Doors Down (worst band name ever?) song.

And no, saying "Iron Man" "may as well be" about the Marvel hero does not make it a superhero song.

I second the recommendation of "The Ballad of Barry Allen," by Jim's Big Ego. It's probably my favorite superhero song of all time, and I don't even like the Flash. Like, at all.
