Metallica to Bloggers: Don’t Review Our Music

Metallica Internet Blog Music Bloggers Napster James Hetfield Lars Ulrich Kirk Hammett Robert Trujillo

Don’t worry - the angry banging of elderly walking canes you may be hearing is actually just the latest “war cry” from Metallica, who apparently still doesn’t understand the internets even after that whole Napster hullabaloo. This time the heavy metal band’s cyber rage is directed at *uh oh* bloggers. Unheard Beach Boys, David Bowie, Coldplay Songs To Be Released

David Bowie Pink Floyd Coldplay Chris Martin Young EMI BBC Vaults

EMI has stuck an exciting deal with the BBC that could set free unreleased material by the likes of the Beach Boys, Pink Floyd, David Bowie, Coldplay, and many more from their extensive vaults. The broadcasting giant is housing thousands of hours of video, audio and radio recordings, which EMI will be granted access to. How the label will parcel out this new material is unknown, but the label could release it digitally or tack it onto future reissues of albums by their roster of artists. The deal will only cover artists that are under contract with EMI, but that includes some seriously heavy hitters like Paul McCartney and Queen.

New Dr. Dog - “The Old Days”

Dr. Dog Fate The Old Days Doctor

Philly based outfit Dr. Dog are a little over a month away from the release of Fate (July 22nd), their newest album and the long-anticipated follow-up to 2007’s We All Belong. The first track to leak off of Fate, “The Old Days”, is a jubilee of a song and a pretty good indicator that Dr. Dog is ready to expand on the classic rock sound cemented in We All Belong.
