Accusing English musicians of plagiarism is so hot right now! With Viva-gate™ now settled, a new blogger is suggesting that Bloc Party’s “Mercury” (more specifically, the track’s horn parts) “bears a striking resemblance” to Peter Gabriel’s “Shock The Monkey.” No serious accusations are being made (it could be a deliberate sample), but I thought you listeners would enjoy comparing and contrasting for yourself.
