Devendra Banhart Recording Album With Side-Project, Megapuss
After a penis-skirt wearing performance (yes, you read that correctly) in Hell-Ay last month, Devendra Banhart (along with Priestbird’s Greg Rogove) has been busy recording a full-length album (tentatively titled Surfin and set for a 2008 release) with his side project band, Megapuss. The duo started the project as a joke and even recruited the mega-funny Aziz Ansari to sing a song about duck racism ( “Duck People, Duck Man”), but thankfully you can still hear a talented group of nuevo-folkies beneath all of the phallus-fashion and waterfowl-dissing.
