Russia To Make Emo Illegal?
In the wake of Mexico’s emo-bashing epidemic of 2008, comes another reason for international emo kids to be, well…emo. Russian legislators are working on a bill that would make being “emo” illegal. The bill would allow Russian government to regulate emo websites, and ban the wearing of goth and emo clothes and styles in schools and government buildings. Go ahead and check your calendar - this is apparantly not an April Fool’s joke. How long before the Statue of Liberty reads, “”Give me your tired, your poor, Your huddled emo kids yearning to listen to My Chemical Romance…”

I despise censorship but I could really get on board with America doing this. Come on W do something worthwhile for your legacy.
I have to say that the emo subculture in Russia is blown out of proportion compared to other contries, but at the same time if it gets banned, it’ll pave a way for other things too. Sort of how long hair and jeans were repressed in the soviet times.
I think this is absolutely ridiculous. All emo kids want to do is wear weird clothes and listen to bad music. Why stop them?
Good. I’m glad they’re gonna ban it. Finally steps in and gets rid of that pathetic excuse for a subculture.

So, what’s next? First the Emo’s and Goth’s, then the rappers/gangsters, soon, we will all be the same… Russia will be more of a brainwashed country, everyone the same, in there image. America already promised freedom of speach and religion and such, you can’t take that away, so technically you can’t ban a style of clothin here either. Which is good. But honestly, how will changin how they look make things better? They will just get sadder, and all they will do is make the problem worse… Sorry bout the spellin, still tired, it’s a saturday!

oh wow thats messed up. i guess i dont understand cuz not all people that dress like that r emo. i have jet black and hot pink hair and it super big and i wear black nail polish…doesnt technically make me emo. i wear skinny jeans also and ballet flats so now im some kinda super freak? i think its unfair to be labled like that. its like sayin the frickin goverment dudes cant wear suits…thats mega lame.
