Arctic Monkeys The Kills Alex Turner Alison Mosshart collaboration Collaborating Domino The Fire And The Thud Last Shadow Puppets Electric Boogaloo

In a joint interview with Xfm, Arctic Monkeys’ Alex Turner and The Kills’ Alison Mosshart revealed that they’ve been working on a new track entitled “The Fire And The Thud” together. The song was previously performed on Jonathon Ross’s BBC radio show and subsequently recorded by Turner before he sent it to Domino label mate Mosshart to add her vocals separately. No word on when and where the track will turn up, but the duo did hint that further collaborations could be in their future. In the meantime, Turner looks to be a busy Monkey this summer - the A-Monks are set to reconvene this month to begin writing their third album while his other band, The Last Shadow Puppets, are set to kick off their first tour in August .

David Bowie Writes About His Favorite Bowie Songs

David Bowie

Those lucky Brits! Prince gave away his new CD for free in U.K. newspapers last summer and this past Sunday’s Daily Mail came with a free 12-track Bowie compilation handpicked by The Man Who Fell to Earth himself. (Americans have to settle with finding only coupons and Parade magazine in their newspapers…) Even better, Bowie wrote the accompanying liner notes about each song, which you can now read online. The 12 songs he discusses are:

“Life On Mars”
“Sweet Thing/ Candidate/ Sweet Thing”
“The Bewlay Brothers”
“Lady Grinning Soul”
“Win”
“Some Are”
“Teenage Wildlife”
“Repetition”
“Fantastic Voyage”
“Loving The Alien”
“Time Will Crawl”
“Hang On To Yourself (live)”
