You know where you are? You’re in the Xbox 360, baby! After a decade and a half since its previous album, Guns N’ Roses is finally releasing a new song, “Shackler’s Revenge,” in September via Rock Band 2. The inclusion of the song is promising news for gamers and non-gamers alike because it suggests that Chinese Democracy might actually come out this fall, after years of delays!
At recent gigs in the U.K., Gnarls Barkley have added a sweet l’il cover to their setlist - Radiohead’s “Reckoner” off of In Rainbows. Sadly, the best video of this performance has been captured on what appears to be fans’ cellphones. Still, a higher quality version should be popping up soon - the duo broke out the cover at a recent small set at London’s Astoria 2 venue, was recorded for an upcoming DVD release!
Remember back in the day when it used to take something depressing like famine to bring all-star musicians together for a single? This summer, Converse has brought together some major musicians to help celebrate the 100th birthday of the Chuck Taylor! The first track to pop out of the Converse Music Collaboration campaign was the recently released “My Drive Thru” featuring Pharrell Williams, Santogold, and Julian Casablancas. Now the uptempo song has been given a Xeroxed paper cut-out motif in a video treatment courtesy of Pharrell. More rumored music collabos from other artists (such as rumored Bradford Cox of Deerhunter, YACHT, Kid Sister, MGMT, Does it Offend You, Yeah?, and Fiery Furnaces) are expected to drop sometime in the near future as part of Converse’s ongoing campaign.
