The City and Horses‘ idiosyncratic lo-fi pop is the work of Brooklyn songwriter Marc Cantone. The opening of “I Love The Girls” has the kind of innocent and offbeat charm that would fit nicely into a Wes Anderson soundtrack and “I Am Such A Drag” is anything but a Debbie Downer. Just listen for yourself. Both songs can be found on The City and Horses’ recent debut LP, I Don’t Want To Dream.

After a 16-year run, Conan O’Brien bid farewell to his gig as Late Night host on Friday with the help of John Mayer, Will Ferrell, Andy Richter and the first performance by the White Stripes since 2007! While Mayer performed a funny self-deprecating dedication entitled “L.A.’s Gonna Eat You Alive,” Jack and Meg dusted off the classic Stripes song “We’re Going To Be Friends.” Check out the songs below and videos after the jump!

“Corriander” is the first single off Pomegranates‘ upcoming sophomore album, Everybody, Come Outside! (April 14th), and it’s a shimmering blend of pop rock, quirk, and charm. The group’s sophomore effort is a conceptual album of 11 tracks that interweave into a mysterious tale of a man who is abducted by a time traveler. Between LOST and Pomegranates, time travel is so hot in 2009!
