Radiohead Introduces “Super Collider” and Covers Portishead’s “The Rip”

Thom Yorke Jonny Greenwood The Rip St. Louis Backstage Portishead Cover

Radiohead kicked off the European leg of their In Rainbows tour this weekend with a spankin’-new song entitled “Super Collider,” which had previously been sound-checked by the band. Thom Yorke used the encore portion of both Dublin shows to test the new tune with a solo performance. Also performed during sound-checks and posted onto the Radiohead social network waste.central, is Thom Yorke and Jonny Greenwood attempting Portishead’s “The Rip,” from that group’s recent album, Third. Posted by Colin Greenwood, the video of the duo covering the song was captured backstage at the band’s show last month in St. Louis. Check out the audio and video below!

CORRECTION: Black Shampoo (a.k.a. Wilco) Dallas Concert Was Fake

Black Shampoo Wilco Jeff Tweedy Black Concert Dallas

If you caught last week’s review of Black Shampoo (a.k.a. Wilco) playing at The Cavern in Dallas, I am sure some of you will be relieved to hear that the unreal-sounding gig was just that - a piece of pure concert fan-fiction (the first of its genre?) courtesy of Hypeful contributor Nico intended not to defraud, but to entertain. I didn’t realize the review was intended as a joke until after it went up and despite having “removed” it from the site, the post apparantly lives on courtesy of Google Cache. (A ghost is born!) Despite being up for a limited time, this completely unintended hoax may’ve accidentally fooled more people than Hypeful’s April Fools gag about Sufjan converting to Scientology.

Anyhoo, I hope this clears things up and apologize for the confusion. For those of you who missed the faux-review or for those who are just looking for some hot Tweedy fanfic, I’m going to save the post from Google Cache purgatory and re-post the full thing after the jump!

Radiohead To Prince: Unblock “Creep” YouTube Vids

Radiohead Prince Coachella Creep Thom Yorke Cover YouTube Video

An interesting dispute over digital ownership is a-brewin’ between two major acts with differing views on music and the Internet - Radiohead and Prince. After videos of Prince covering Radiohead’s “Creep” at this year’s Coachella made it on to YouTube, the Purple One and his label have attempted to have all of the clips taken down claiming a copyright violation (despite, the fact that the song isn’t Prince’s and the posted videos were shot by fans). Thom Yorke recently revealed that after his band had trouble watching the clip, he’s asked for Prince and YouTube to unblock the videos claiming copyright ownership. Read more about the copyright conflict at Billboard.

10 Worst Ways To Behave At Concerts: How You’re Ruining It For Everyone

10 Worst Ways To Behave At Concerts How You’re Ruining It For Everyone

Music festival season is upon us and MuchMusic has put together a spot-on list of the 10 worst concert behaviors of so-called “fans.” I think all concert goers should have to sign off on some kind of waiver agreeing not to engage any of these listed activities (I’m thinking of you in particular, extremely-wasted 6′8″ dude standing/dancing in front of me while your girlfriend intermittently uses her cell phone for chatting and snapping terrible photos…) What are your least favorite modern concert behaviors?
