The Streets (aka Mike Skinner) released a video today regarding a film adaptation of his 2004 concept album, A Grand Don’t Come for Free. Unfortunately, the tone of the video and today’s date suggest this project could simply be a joke. Pity if it is a gag - the videos from A Grand (”Blinded By The Lights,” in particular) suggests there’s some cool visual narrative you could do with the album’s fairly simple plot. Plus, the Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots stage adaptation still seems far from opening night.

Remember back in February when Hypeful asked you to help bring This American Life to a movie theater near you? Good news - it worked!!! On May 1st, acclaimed radio and television host Ira Glass will bring his wildly popular show to the big screen for a one-night only event. Broadcast live from New York via satellite and presented in HD and Cinema Surround Sound, Glass will debut never-before-seen extraordinary, funny and true stories from everyday life, show outtakes, feature special guests and answer audience questions. Tickets go on sale April 4th and you can see the complete list of participating theatres here. If you’re planning on going, you can also submit a question via email for Ira Glass in advance.
The new trailer for The Incredible Hulk debuted this week, giving audiences a first look at the Jade Giant, Abomination, and a flick that will probably be more about smashing stuff than Ang Lee’s cinematic meditation on emotional repression. The trailer for Lost Boys 2: The Tribe (why not Lost Boys 2: Vampire Weekend?!?) has hit the internets - a sequel that is so surprising, it made Corey Haim weep. Based on this preview, it looks like the sequel’s main ingredients are motorcycles, skateboarding, vampires, and Corey Feldman - which means this flick is gonna be mega-rad or 2008’s Snakes On A Plane.
