A Colbert Christmas Premieres Sunday

Don’t forget - Stephen Colbert is trading in his pinstripe suit this Sunday for a cardigan, turtleneck and furry boots to host his own hour-long holiday special A Colbert Christmas: The Greatest Gift of All! Following in the tradition of Andy Williams and Bing Crosby, Colbert will be visited by special musical guests Willie Nelson, Feist, Elvis Costello, Toby Keith, Jon Stewart, and John Legend to sing Christmas songs penned by Daily Show executive producer David Javerbaum and composed by Fountains of Wayne’s Adam Schlesinger. Check out a preview of two songs below!

Stephen Colbert’s “Charlene” Is A Free Rock Band Download

Stephen Colbert Charlene Music Video Rock Band The Colbert Report

If you don’t believe that Stephen Colbert is one of the most awesome men alive, just take a look at his résumé - TV personality, actor, author, presidential candidate, and last but not least, 80’s rock icon. As hilariously revealed on The Colbert Report, Stephen’s earlier years were spent as the front man for Stephen and the Colberts and the band’s hit single, “Charlene (I’m Right Behind You),” is best-described as an epic ballad of stalker love. Now, the folks behind Rock Band are showing their allegiance to the Colbert Nation by offering Stephen’s infamous song as a free download via Xbox Live (and possibly PlayStation 3). This might be one of the coolest things since “Rock and Awe: Countdown to Guitarmageddon!″

Anyway check out the song and its must-see music video below along with a video clip of “Charlene” on Rock Band!

MTV To Remake The Rocky Horror Picture Show

The Rocky Horror Picture Show Redux MTV Remake Tim Curry Dr. Frank-N-Furter Brad Janet Riff Raff Cult Classic Soundtrack Music Covers

Today at Comic-Con, MTV announced their intentions to do the time warp by remaking the 1975 cult-classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show to broadcast on TV next Halloween. Apparently they will work off the original campy 1975 screenplay but ”may also include music not featured in the original.” No word yet on a director or cast, but hopefully execs will not send The Jonas Brothers or Hannah Montana to the ol’ Frankenstein place. What do you think - inspired idea or movie-mistake-in-the-making? Here’s a big batch of Rocky Horror covers to enjoy while you pray Heidi Montag isn’t cast as Janet…

MP3s:
Dresden Dolls - “Science Fiction/Double Feature”
Control-R - “Dammit Janet”
Kelly Kapowski - “Over at the Frankenstein Place”
