After a short 15 year wait, you can now hear Chinese Democracy on their MySpace page! While you are at it check out Chuck Klosterman’s review of the album. So, it looks like this thing just might happen! Now, I imagine, everyone is wondering if Dr. Pepper will be true to their word. Well it looks like that is happening as well. First Obama, now Chinese Democracy with free D.P., excuse me while I go die now.

Get your jazz hands ready! Decemberists frontman Colin Meloy has told Rolling Stone that his band’s fifth album, Hazards of Love, is probably going to be described as a “rock opera.” The hour-long narrative suite is said to be a “twisty, fantastical story about a woman named Margaret who is ravaged by a shape-shifting animal; her lover, William, who is desperate for the two of them to be reunited; a forest queen; and a villainous rake.” Although plans for director Michael Mayer (Spring Awakening) to stage the musical were sadly canceled, the Decemberists’ spring tour will feature the band playing the entire album straight through.

The Nirvana Nevermind baby (i.e., Spencer Elden, now 17) has once again recreated the iconic album cover for MTV. The original pic was taken in 1991 and Elden recreated the image six years ago for Rolling Stone. Fun facts: Elden plays water polo for his high school and uses his semi-notoriety to pick up girls by asking, “You want to see my penis…again?” Still no word on when we’ll get to see that Blind Melon girl squeeze back into her bee costume.
